Checklist for Purchasing a Home

- Check out school system in the area.
- Decide on a location or neighborhood.
- Decide on a price range.
- Choose a realtor.
- Pre-qualify with a lender or bank to determine loan eligibility.
- Select an attorney and contact them at least three (3) weeks prior to closing.
- Discuss fees with attorney.
- Select a homeowners insurance company and notify your attorney.
- Discuss title search, title insurance and survey with closing attorney or paralegal.
- Schedule a time and date for closing with attorney.
- Have certified funds available for the closing.
